Mr. Andrewes here explained that the manager of the Pioneer Silk Store reported the matter to the Police but the man had left the Colony for the North yesterday morning and could not be called. The defendant was traced to Singa pore where he was detained. Wires wert: exchanged between Singapore Hongkong. The defendant and. The authorities in Singapore accordingly sent a wire to Hongkong and asked that dome- ane be sent down for the defen- dunt.
