[A message dated the 1st inst., stated that the ship had sent out frantic 8.0.9. signals that morning, vessels answering the call falling to SANTHIA find any trace of the steamer, The S. O. 8. calls were picked up by MOREA the Japanese Naval Station at Sasobo, and a destroyer was immediately des patched.
The destroyer wireleased that it had been unable to discover any tines of the vessel. Four of the crew had been picked up, and it was feared that the remaining 31 had been drowned.]
