The premises wore gally decorat- ed for the occasion and a large number of people interested in the Reserves attended. Besides Mr. Wolfe and Dr. T'so there were present Mr. F. C. Mow Fung (Superintendent of Police Reser- ves), presiding, the Hon. Dr. R. H. Kotewall, Messrs. D. Burling- ham (D. S. P.), C. G. Perdue (A. S. P.), L. H. C. Calthrop (A. S. P.), W. Kent (A. S. Dovey, Bishan Singh and P. M. Hodgson.
Before asking Mr. Wolfe to declare the premises open, Mr. Mow Fang thanked the gueste most cordially for their attend- ance. They had gathered under most auspicious circumstances, he said, and mentioned that they were to witness the formal opening of the club and also to congratulato Dr. Ta on the honour recently conferred on him by H. M. the King (Applause).
The opening of the club would doubtless mark a new page in the annals of the freshly organised Police Reserves. It had filled a great want, as. the Chinese com- pany had begun to increase and a club such as they were about to open was needed for a force like the Police Reserves to strengthen the caprit de corps of the company.

The least that could be done for the Chinese Company and the other branches of the Police Reserves was for the regulars to give them every assistance pos- Bible. Mr. Wolfe thanked Mr. Mow Fung and Dr. T'so for the kindly interest they had taken in the movement.
The least he (Mr. Wolfe) could do was to assist them as far as he could.
Mr. Mow Fung then congratul- ated Dr. Tso on the honour con- ferred upon him. Dr. Tso and his devotion to the public welfare was too well known to require any eulogy from the chairman.. Mr. Mow Fung mentioned the Special Constabulary organised by Dr. Tao during the atrike of 1925: One and all could not help but admire his courage, his singleness of purpose and his sincerity of conviction.
