I was waiting, alone, in the re- ception room, when Jeff padded in oying me inquisitively. I eyed him, too, because it may be dangerous to be a stranger to a dog that weighs 100 pounds and is all bone and muscle. But Jeff proved thoroughly democratic and affectionate. She promoplly arranged an ex- hibition for him, and introduced him to a circle of artist friends who have taken a warm personal interest in helping him to publie recognition,

Jeff bears the marks of a serious accident. Recently, he chanced to have his tail in the crack of n door when the governor closed the door. A doctor fixed him up with reams of bandages and adhesive tape. Just now, Jeff's bandaged tail is just about the same size and shape
