This witness, Un Kee, said that because Un Chee, the brother of the first fugitive Un Kin, fought the soldiery, he was killed by the latior.
The Commandant of the Village Volunteers was paid 200 annually for his services by the elders of the Village, but when he was shot and wounded, it is alleged by the two fugitiver, he received no compens tion whatever.
