THE HONGKONG TELEGRAPH,
BRITISH TRIUMPH, Wilmot Evans, won a Manufac
Recent Motor Cycle Trials.
The results of the Auto-Cycle Union's six Days' Standard Stock Machine Trial very ably demon- strate the high stage of reliability and efficiency that has been reached by British Motor Cycles,
Sixty-two brand new machines elally selected from manufac- turers' or dealers stocks by the A. C. U, subjected to n week's trial un- der most arduous conditions over a course of 750 mlles, was the test tol which they were put. Fifty-two of the machines gained gold medals and of this number, thirty-six.came through with absolutely elean
sheets.
The Triumph Company's Team, consisting of Miss Edyth Foley and Messrs. F. G. Edmond and
turer's Team Prizo and Gokl Medals, finishing the course without the loss of a single point.
The 750 mile course was moro severe than that of previous years. With Buxton as the centre, the routes traversed were, for the most part, through moorland tracks of the Peak district of Derbyshire, and this, combined with the inclu- sion of well over 100 hills, having gradients steeper than 1 in 7, pro- vided a very searching test for both riders and their machines.
It ja interesting to note that each of the three members of the suc- cessful Triumph Team piloted one of the new Triumph Model N do Luxe, which is a plendid mount for Colonial conditions, having an engine with a capacity of 494 cc., mechanical lubrication with sight feed, the new pattern. Triumph front forks and internal expanding brakes on both front and rear wheels.

PARIS TRAFFIC
LESSON.
Slower and Less Noisy Progress.
M. Doumergue, the French President, had time during his recent busy stay in London to study traffic regulations.
The traffic problem is becoming ever more serious in Paris, and M. Chiappe, the Police Prefect, is searching for a solution of the difficulties it involves.
IIe asked the President for hia' impressions of the traffic in Lon- don streets, and M. Doumergue replied that three things struck. him. They were the:-
·
Slower pace of inotor vehicles. Use of directions painted on streets.
Restricted use of horns by the drivers of motor vehicles.
When M. Chiappe turned to Mr. W. P. Eno, an American traffic export, he was Interested to find, that it was these three things which in Mr. Eno's. vlow were necessary in Paris.-E.
