PRETTY SHANGHAI WEDDING.-Mr. John Jackson, of the Finance Departmont, S.M.C., and Miss Logbie Gil bertson, after their wedding on December 11, at Holy. Trinity Cathedral. Mr. Jackson is the son of the late Dr. Gordon Jackson, M.D., R.N., and Mrs. Jackson, of West Norwood, London, Miss Gilbertson, who is well known in Shanghai, having been connected with the Victoria Nursing Home, is from Lerwick, Shotland Isles.

WRECK RIGHTS ITSELF AFTER FLO ATING ABEAM-This skotch of the wrecked 8.8. Lionshing was made last week, and shows that the vossel, which was origin- ally floating aboam, has righted itself. It lies about two miles from the rocks upon which it ran. The cause of this righting itself is not known, but it is surniised that thore must have been some snall explosion in the hull which caused imprisoned air to be released.

A BATTLE ROYAL-Most of the University of Pennsylvania freshmen and sophomores wont into the annual flour battle at Philádolphai stripped to the waist, but this is how they looked when they came out.

CRUISING ROUND THE WORLD AGAIN. The Empress of Scotland, flagship of the Canadian Pacific fleet, sailed from New York, eastward around-the-world, on December 2, 1926, with 425 souls aboard. This fourth annual Canadian Pacific world cruise is being piloted again this season by (2) Captain R. G. Lutta, commander of the Empress of Scotland, assisted by 3 Staff Captain Ronald N. Stuart, V.C., D.S.0., R.N.R. The Empress is due to arrive in Hongkong on February 10, 1927.
