The Interport Trial was again followed with great interest. Comi- pared to the previous, weeks, a fairly large crowd was present, in spite of counter-attractions. The game was more or less, to try out aur batsmen against some of the best bowlers available, and, on a perfect wicket, the bat triumphed over the bull. Of the three new players who appeared for the first time, Capt. Dobble, I think, is the only ono who can claim an inclusion in the Hongkong team. Going in at the fall of the third wicket, ho carried his but for a chanceless score of 63 runs and at a time when rins were badly needad. He treated al the balls served up with little respect anil was merciless on the short pitched and loose ones. Given another ten or fifteen minutes at the wicket, It looked as if he would easily have made a hundred runs.
