Speaking of the arrests of "the five defendants, Mr. White Smith said that Sub Inspector Brown 5 was instructed to make a search' for the suspected persons. At about 3 p.m. on September 13, he received certain information in consequence, of which he went to Tak Mun village on the Grass Island.

That evening he found the first defendant in a public lavatory. On his person a number of Hong- kong ten-cent pieces and Chinese twenty-cent plôces were found The second defendant was arrest- ed shortly afterwards in a wash- ing house.
