Last night. Lammert was seen at centre forward, instead of his usual wing or inside, position, and he showed considerable promisc. If an efficient substi tute can be found to fil his former position, and he is given a chance to get used to the posi tion, he will probably develope into a very good centre. Vallack and Jacobs Larcombe on the left wing were not see. much of, most of the real effective play coming from Owen-Hughes, and Woodward on the right. Martia showed his consistent good form at left, half, and the others, Mitchell (centre half), and Hett (right), did much to prevent their opponents scoring in the second half. Although doing useful work, Becher at left back' was none too safë at times, and his partner Dand covered, many

well. Hamilton was not a great success in goal, and although he saved a number of shots, his play was not, convincing at times.

The sailors played remarkably well, and had they sustained their good form after the resump tion, it is doubtful whether the Club would have succeeded in benting them by three clear goals. Their attack was particularly good, Sub, Lieut. Wilson at out- side left using his speed to, ad- vantage, and creating many promising openings. He played

well with L., Nicholson. Lt. Cur. Bower and Lt. Halsey on the left combined well, and showed - good understanding with Mid. Ship- man Stephenson at centre for-1 ward. Mid. Shipman Freer was a distinct success at left half." Lt. Wauchope, centre half, was instrumental in stopping

many

Club offensives, and he was well supported by Lt.Cdr. Lyle, nt right half. Both Cdr. Gray and Mid. Shipman Shaw at backs, were sound, but hardly quick enough for the Club forwards, and Sur- geon Lt. Brown, in goal, come through સ number of trying ordeal's successfully.
