HOCKEY MATCH.

CLUB DEFEATS "HERMES."

A team from H.M.S. Hormon suffered defont at the hands of Hongkong Hockey Club second olovon, at the Marina ground, Kowloon, last evening, when the Club won by five goals to two. Thoir play was much more con- vincing than that of Hermes, and on the whole they deserved their substantial win.

As a team the Club pulled togo- ther woll, and played a winning) game from the beginning. Garrod atinside loft was one of the shiningi lights of the forward line, and he had a larga share of the play that resulted in several of the goals. Lyon at centre forward also show- ed good form, and the wingers, Exell and Price, ware fast and reliable. Lloyd at inside right Tho halvor was a hard worker.

and the backs tackled and clearod well, and afforded great support to the forwards. Frank, in goal, showed his consistent abilities, and could not be blamed for the shots that passed him,

Tho bost part of the Hermes' team was the half back lina. They did much to hold the lovon to- gether. MONEY FROM RAILWAYS.

In order to "covsale" troops re- turning from the East River front and to give Red Cross assistance where needed, an organization de scribed as the Delegates Associa- tion of various classes for the uni- fication of Kwangtung, has been raising funds in Canton.

The Association has now written to the Government stating that there are many soldiers needing help and a large sum of money will therefore be needed. It therefore asks the authorities to instruct the three railways to increase the price of tickets by 20% for ten days starting from the 21th iu- stant, the total amount thus de- rived to be handed over to the Association, whilst the Opinza
