"Why do mediums do silly" things?" the judge asked.
Colonol Roskell mentioned that one woman lootured at the club on Theosophy. This led to Mr. Justice Sankey asking for various definitions, which the colonel gave as follows:-
Theosophy: A religion started by Mrs. Besant.
New Thought: If you want something you have to think it, and you get it.
Astral Hoaling: Now called Cousism.

Colonel Roskell said one woman at the Delphic Club gave public exhibitions of psychology. A man who was a popular lecturer on spiritualism was now, he believ ed, a Bishop of the New Catholic Church.
Cross examined by Molville, the colonel denied that at a seance where Mre. Harris was performing, Ady put his foot on the trumpet and closed it up and that the voice continued, and turned out to be that of Mrs. Harris.
He had not made inquiries of the police shout Mrs. Bush, as she had admitted a conviction.
Counsel: You knew she was a convioted swindler?-Accord- ing to the law, she was.
PALMISTRY..
He agreed that palmistry was practised at the club, but denied that it was "mixed up" with spiritualism.
"Harmony," he told counsel, was the name of the spirit re- garded by Mrs. Harris as ber chief control.
