The first important gathering of the season was that of the Institute of Handicraft Teachers, which was held at Eastertide, Among the speakers Bir Joseph Cook, High Commissioner for Australia, and Bir John Cockburn, late Minister of Education for Australia. Concurrent with the Conference. a special course of study for bandicraft toachers was arranged at the Municipal Training College. The services of the Brighton Electric "Railway, which runs. along the sea front from the Palace Pior to Black Rock, are now ex- tended by an auxiliary floot of Oars, which will convey passengers. from Black Rock to the heart of the Down's lying beyond the main Bighton-Rotting dean road.
