ONE OF THE WORLD'S GREATEST SALESROOMS.

Cara

The salesroom of the New York Branch of the Buick Motor Company at 55th Street and Broadway. New York, sells and delivers more and more dollars worth of automobiles than any other salesroom in the world. And its sales are increasing all the time,

1923, 24.365 now Buicks. This Buick Branch delivered, during representing a cash value of $39,591,918. In 1924, it is expected that about 30,000 cars will be delivered, a business of over $50,000,000, Few if any of the great New York department stores will do as great a volume of business.

That is one of the main reasons why one radio fan will get Hawali on a single tube, while another couldn't tune out his local station OR a three tube wulfit, says an American writer.

In the cast of a variable con- donner. the rotor plates should never be attached to grid or plato, because they are directly can. nocted to the dial and the hand. The stator platos, which connect to the grid or plate, should bons far away from the panel as possiblo.

strument. increase of 3.844

From August 1, 1923 to May 16, 1924, deliveries of this Branch amounted to 20,139 Buicks as compared with 16,295, deliveries for the same period the preceding year, This represents an cars, or a 23-% gain. Sales of this Branch for the first two weeks of 945 sold in the same May 1924, were 1,231 Buicks as compared with period last year. This is an increase of over 30%. It is no wonder that a record breaking volume of business is expected for the new season.

Because the value of Buick output has each year been greater than that of any other exhibitor, Buick has held first place in every National Automobile Show in the United States during the last six years. In 1923, Buick sold 218,516 motor cars, representing a value of $302,752.950 nol including war tax or freight. In the New York district alone 12-5/10% of the 88,026 new cars sold in 1923 were Buicks.

A COUNTRY OF ATMOSPHERICS.

Egypt is known generally as a place of terrible atmospherics, and is one of the few countrier of the world in which wiroless is known only to a few people, writes 1. P. Selavounos to Popular Wireizas,

Capacity effects cause most trouble in badly wired receivers. They may be avoided by the knowledge of a fundamental prin cipla It is:

There is also the well-known high-powor station near Cairo; SUC, which is handling fiavorn- ment and commercial traffic to Oxford station. This station is similar to that of Oxford, and future, amateurs of Egypt will have to suffer much from its harmonics.

Although iho Government) allows receiving apparatus, there are de amatours excopt a few Europeans, who are in possession of receiving sets for the purpose of hearing the English broad- casting stations.

These are often picked up oven. with one vulva reaction sets. The writer has many times ro- ceived the English broadcasting stations with one valve, and the same results have been roportud by an anginoor of the Eastern

Telegraph Company.

With a 4-valve set London and Cardiff were received with loud- speaker rosuits.

Lately signals are spoiled by atmospherics, that begin to bo stronger and stronger every day. But there are many hopes for the real natours of Egypt to get botter results after the erection of the now 23 kw. British broad- casting station.

Real interest can only be dove- loped by the erection of locall broadcasting stations. which necessitates a great deal of hard work.

This fact has alrondy hoan realised, and more than one group of enterprising speculators has approached the Government with a view to obtaining a concession.
