Authoress Loses Her Action. Baroness Orezy, authoroнs of the book and the play "The Soar- lot Pimpernel," has lost the action she brought against Mr. Fred Torry and his wife, Miss Julia Neilson (who have appear- od in the play), claiming film rights,

Mr. Justice Evo, giving judg mont, said the Terrys were given the entire rights of production, When the Copyright Act of 1911 came into operation in 1912 the porforming rights, which ho hold ware vasted in the Torrys includ ed the rights to the cinemata- graph reproduction of the play.

As far as the novel was con- corned, defondants had no grastor intorent in It than was contained in the fuel that a good deal of the book was introduood into tho play. Tho action did not involve the rights of the plaintiff in hor novel, and the position as to hor copy-right was unassailable.

His lordship dismissed the notion with costa.
