There are still people alive who were baptised and married there. An unconfirmed report states: that firm which supplies material for road making acquirod historia · building for a more song "loss than £50. Anyway, the demolition is proceeding vary much. In the same way that an old barn would be pulled down, and at the prosent rate of progress thoro will bo little loft of the building. at the end of this month.

PILE OF ORAVESTONES. Recently, the church was roof- loss, half of the chancol walls' wore down, old oak beams word lying in the churchyard, whore gravestones were piled one.on top of another or scattered about indiscriminately.

In one part of the churchyard, wore broken parts of the lid of a) stono coffin, which when whole had borne on its face a cross carved in relief. The coffin, the) lid of which is now in fragments, is ostimated to have boon con- structed at least 600 years ago.

Slabs which at one timo sapi ported memorial brasses lie among the ruins of roof tiles and masonry. What has become of tha brass no one seems to know or onre to tell. The whereabouts of the altar, the pulpit, the font. the boll, and old fashioned benches aro alen ques- tions to which it is difficult to get dofinito answers.

Reliablo records indicate that the church dafos back to the 14th contury, and there are reasona to suppose that part of the build. ing now being destroyed, was constructed before the Norman Conquest,,
