REPARATIONS COMMISSION.

Paris, Dec. 1.

The newspapers are most pleased at the unanimous decision of the Repurations Commission and declare that the Entente has once mere been cemented. L'Oeurre says the conciliatory attitude of Sir John Bradbury was particularly valuable in view of the prospect of jan agreement as regards Tangier and Morocco and the tab-Spanish

dirtation.

It is noteworthy that a semi-official statement says that the question of the payments from the Rabr was not discussed because there was a tacit mutual agreement to avoid any discussion likely to cause confict buta ses the different schools of thought regarding methods.

One of the Committees appointed by the Reparations Commis- sion is to investigate means of balancing the budget and stabilising earrency. the other to investigate means of valuing or causing the return to Germany of her vanished capital. The significance of to-day's decision lies in the fact it is the first time since 11th January, wher the decision was taken to occupy the Bahr. that the Reparations Commission has taken a znanimous decision as regards Germany.

In connection with the Reparation Commission's decision, it is pointed out that the terms of reference to the proposed Committees do hit contain the restrictions which M. Polneare sought to place on the Committee of Experts suggested by Britain and which were us acceptable to the United States. Great importance is attached by the Commission to American participatient without which it is believed. at least in British quarters, that the enquiry would be abortive. All the delegates were most impressed by the urgency of taking steps to check Germany's rash towards financial chaos.

the

A semi-official statement hopes that the unanimity of the Re- parations Commaissit n'a decision will encourage the United States to send representatives to the Experts' Committee, members of which are being appointed next week. The Commission will fix the next payments to be demanded from Germany when these committees have completed their labours.

THE GENERAL ELECTION.

London, Dec. 1.

The electoral contest, particularly in London and Scotland, is being marked by a campaign of rowdyism, of which the victims are mostly Liberals and Conservatives. They declare the campaign is organised by extreme Labourites or Communists.

Mr. Hogbin (Liberal) fighting Mr. Saklatvala (Labour) for North Battersea, has decided to cancel all his meetings and rely on per- sonal canvassing, owing to the way he has been pursued and persist- ently interrupted. Mr. Asquith's brother-in-law, Mr. H. 3. Tennant, Liberal candidate for Central Glasgow, is now constantly protected by the police owing to an incident when he was hustled and robbed of a gold watch and chain at the close of one of his meetings. Robt Horse's meeting at Glasgow last evening. after continuous Interruptione, ended with the Labourites standing on chairs and in- coherently selling. Mr. Asquith suffered similarly at Paisley. body of met carrying a banner with "Hail Bolshevist Russia!" finally took possession of Sne meeting, Mr. Asquith leaving the platform while "The Red Flag" was lustily, sung.

Sir

A

Misa Violet Robertson, Unionist candidate for St. Rollex, Glasgow, was attacked by hooligans while addressing a meeting in the school room last evening, kicked on the leg and spat upon repeatedly. She is confined to bed to-day, suffering from bruises and shock.

Premier Massey, who, as a Dominion representative, has recently drawn Liberal criticism on his head owing to his publicly voicing Pro- tectionist views in the course of the present electoral campaign, in a speech at Lindperry said Britain would have to tackle the blem of South American competition with British farmers.

pro- America could at present beat them every time in the meat industry; South when European peace was established, Britain would have to greater German

competition, and Britain's unemployment due to free trade.

How Pretty Teeth

affect the smile-teeth freed from film

See what one week will do

The open smile comes naturally when there are pretty teeth to show. Bet dingy teeth are kept concealed

The differtace lies in Elm. That is what stains and discolors. That is what hides the tooth luster.

Why teeth are dim

You teeth are coated with a viscous film. You can feel it now, It clings to teeth, gets between the *th and says

No ordinary tooth paste can e fectively combat it. The tooth brush, therefore, leaves much of

intact

t

She is what discolors, not the teeth. It often forms the basis ci a dingy coat Milicas of teeth are clanded in tha; way,

The tooth attacks

Füm also helds food substance which ferments and form acis. It holds the acids in contact with the teeth to cause decay.

Germs constantly breed in it They, with tartar. are the chief case of pyorrhea. Thus most theth Troubles are now traced to im, and very few people escape tite

Must be combated Dental science has long been

seeking a daily fim combatant. In late years two effective methods have been found Authorities have proved them by many careful tests. Now leading dentists nearly all the world over are urging their daily use.

A new-day tooth paste has been perfected, made to comply with modern requirements. The name is Pepsodent These two great combatants are embodied in it.

Al

It goes further Other effects are now considered essential Pepsodent is made to bring them all.

It multiplies the salivary flow. It multiplies the starch digestant in the saliva. That is there to di- gest starch deposits on teeth, so they will not remain and form acids

It multiplies the alkalinity of the saliva. That is Nature's neutralizer for acids which cause decay.

Thus every appäcation gives these tooth-protecting forges mul tipfied effect

These things mean whiter, cleaner, safe teeth. They tran natural mouth conditions, better tooth protection.
