Mr. Wintner has come to the Orient to take testimony from several foreigners and Chinese in connection with charges against . a Mr. Honry Werblow, who has been indicted in New York in connection with the case. The alleged fraud was perpetrateil last year from Peking through orge cable instructions to af London bank for payment of large sums on the Asia Banking Corporation and the Guaranty Trust Company' of New York. Portions of the sums called for already had been paid, on receipt of the instructions when the was discovered, alleged fraud according to reports receited at, that time.

After a short stay in Japan; Mr. Wintnor will proceed ra Pek- ing, where he will associate hiri-. self with Judge Churles Lobingiër of the United States Court Shanghai in his efforts to obtain evidence against Werblow. The indicted man is said to be now in China attempting to arm himself with evidence to clear himself of the charge, having been released on $25,000 bail, adda our contem porary. The caso is scheduled to come up for trial in New York Boon.
