An Open Letter to Our Patrons.
THE JEWEL SUPER PICTURE “THE FLIRT“ which is to be presented at this theatre this month is, in the estimation of the critics and ourselves, one of the greatest of achievements in the history of the screen.
"THE FLIRT" İN BOOTH TARKINGTON'S masterpiece transferred to the screen with a fidelity and sincerity that makes this picture the greatest drama of American life ever produced,
A remarkable cast under the direction of Hobart Henley has made the characters in Booth Tarkington's famous book live and act in a mighty drama that will live in your memory long after all other big picture have heon forgotten.
Naturally, a showman wants everybody to see every picture he shows. But it's something other, than mere business that prompts us to plead with you not to miss "THE FLIRT".
It is one of the greatest and most satisfying pictures we have ever seen anywhere. It certainly is of the finest this theatre has over shown. We are proud one to be able to show it at our theatre," ;

Londen, Sept. 3. Underwriters are most keenly interested in the catastrophe, in. Japan, but the direct financial interests are likely to be strictly.. limited sinee, after the great San Francisco earthquake in 1906, fire underwriters hava been careful to see that the risk of earthe quake was specifically excluded from the terms of the ordinary, firg policy. In isolated cases companies may have specially accepted risk for additional premium, but it le believed there has been com paratively little demand from Japan. for this special form of in- surance. It is believed that marine underwriters in some insurance contracts covering shipping in course of construction have also specially excluded the risk of damage by seismic disturbance.
