HOUSE COLLAPSE.
Two Coolies Injured.
Torrential rains loosened the eupports of two houses, Nos. 162 and 164, at Hollywood Road which were in course of demoli- tion, yesterday, and brought down the buildings. The roofs and walls collapsed, precipitating the 'work- men into the ground floor. They escaped, but two earthcoolies, 'a man and woman who were in the ground floor, were not so fortunate. Firemen and policemen summon; ed to the rescue later found ther Burled up to the armpits. They were so injured that they had to be sent to Hospital.

Against an older and more ex- perienced team, the Indians play- ed remarkably well. Their field, jing and catching were excellent
but their batting was excep- tionelly week. T'p to the seventh innings the Indians) bad the game well in hand. the score then being 10-12 in their favour, and would unques- tionably have won the match had!TAINS ALL THEIR aot darkness set in, which caused]] ORGINAL. them to make a series of errors in the eighth and faal innings, leaving the Japanese victors of a well contested game by 16:11 rane.
The Indians are in the hauds of Mr. Vicente E-pins, a once famous Filipino baseball star, and with a little more training and experience they will no doubt bo' able to rank themeel vee, with thei premier teams in the colony.
For the Japanese. Ishimatsu, the pitchar, and Nishida, the short stop, did exceptionally well.
The game was watched by a big! crowd of spectators and the follow- ing tied up for the Indians :-- Catcher, O. Ismail. Pitcher, U. M. Omar. 1st. Buse, S. Sephar. 2nd Base, J. S. Curreem. 3rd Base. J.
