Canton School Attendance Shows Increase.

A recent census taken by the Municipal Dapartment of Educa- Ition of the schools in Canton shows an increase of attendance in the city primary sabuals.

was about seven thousand, and for the first quarter this year the attendance has increased to nine Ithousand. This does not include

The educational authorities, says the Canton Daily News, ste, now. confronted with the problem of providing adequaté accommodation for the increase of pupils. The Feity population is increasing and it is necessary to make provision for the children who now seek admission to the different educk- tional institutions. The difficulty confronting the educational de partment is the lack of suitable buildings for schools. It has been decided that some of the temples be acquired for this purpose.
