Where is the oldest cylinder seal in the warld ?

In • recent issue of the Museum Journal: the University Museum, Philadelphia, cisims the oldest-dated seal of this kind; but British Museum official told a Daily Chronicle, represent- Jative last month that this does (not necessarily mean the oldest

seal.

The Philadelphia' sezl brought from Bagdad in 1890, and found to belong to. Basha- Enzu, probably the first. King of the fourth Kiah dynasty, about 2990 B.C. It shows something of anciant Babylonian' ritual in its engraving.

"If the Philadelphia Museum is entitled to claim the oldest, dated (seal," said the British Museum official, it cannot alkim the oldest seal, because there are un- dated seals in the British Museum which approximate, according to Babylonian experts, to a much older date than 5,000 years ago.

Public Should have Protection. J Some trouble has been caused

through two fatal injections of soma cholera preventive in Tokyo. There is a great readiness among doctors who understand little of bacteriology and have little of the skill required, to use these injec- tions rashly, and there is a still more dangerous tendency for oficials to make such injections compulsory.

It is gradually becoming more I widely recognised in Westera countries that the authorities. have no right to compel people to submit to injections, but in Japan the injection craze has not yet begun to wine.
