The tide, had now isen and there was a greater depth of water. There were still 29 people on board the Shioyei Mari, sad these included the Captain's wife and daughter. (aged three years). The Hapeh's boat took off the lady and her child. as well as 16 others, and the Jap ciss lifeboat successfully. took away the remaining people. Subsequently, the Hupeh hove up sochor and proceeded to Shaoghal. The Sinyei Maru, s veniel of about 1,000 tons register, was bound from Tientein to Shanghai with a cargo of coal.
