A large proportion of the mem- bere of the Imperial Merchant Service Guild also hold commis- sions in the Royal Naval Reserve, and it, therefore studies closely all regulations issued by the Admiralty affecting the Reserve. and have been instrumental in obtaining for members benefits which would probably otherwise never have accrued. The recently published regula- tions for officers of the Royal Naval Reserve contain' certain anomalies in pay and conditions which have been taken up in this mander. In some cases the draft-· ing of the orders will entail loss of quite a considerable amount of pay.
