There are two cornar entrances to the Bank from the Central Avenac, the residential quarters being reached from the east side and the onces from the west. The whale of the woodwark is of locally made teak and the building is heated (when required) with open fres. The following materials were used in the construction of the building-Bags of cement, 15,000; number of piles, 5,000; ateel, 200 tons; bricks 2,000,000; granite, 10,000 enbic feet; task- wood, 13,000 cubic feet; reinforced concrete, 3,000 cubic feet
An the fittings were imported from England, the tiling coming from Messrs. Malkin, Lendon, the bronte metal from Mayers. "Gib- bons, London, the sanitary fittings from Messrs. Shanks, London, and the casements and leaded lights from Messrs. Henry T. Hope, of Birmingham. The whole of the furniture and fittings, for the banking ball were supplied by the Hongkong Furnishing Company, the Bttings for the open dres by Messrs. Matthews, of London, and Maus. Bratt Colbran, of London, and the electric light fittings (with the exception of the fine large alabaster bewls suspended by bronze chains, which were supplied | by Messrs. Detler, of Oxford Street) and wiring by the Hong- kong Electric Company.
