The world is promised, shortly that ships will not rock in the cradle of the deep but will give to - marinera a life on the rolling -

main with all the "roll" cat out. A magical contrivanco called the Sperry gyroscope has beaten the billows! It enables ships to be stabilized, no matter what the weather! According to experts, vessels can be maintained within two degrees of the vertical under all conditions. Thus it seems as though the care for sea sickness that has so long eluded ships' doctors will eventually be found in the engine room. When liners are fitted with gyroscopes it will, it is claimed be possible for a passenger to carry a cop of tea along the deck in a storm without giving an ipiftation of a humorous music-hall turn. - Most of the leading shipping companies are considering gyroscopes, bus the first liner to be fitted with this new wonder will be the 18,000 ton Huron (formerly known as the Friedrich der Grosse). The. valus of stabilizers for war ships is obvious. America is trying the gyroscope equipment on one of ber destroyers, and the British Admiralty, which has had the matter under consideration for some time, is about to follow suit.
