than Cedric to Bombardier, eventually reached her about 3 of this news from Mount Clay a.m. on the 9th inst. On receipt

and of a message from Bombrdier we turned to the eastward and resumed our voyage, advising the New York office of the situation. The crew of the sinking ateamer were rescued at daylight by the Mount Clay's boats and I received a message of thanks from the Bombardier's Captain, who stated that the ship would probably float a few hours longer. Dominion did not slight the Bombardier, and I understand proceeded at the same time as ourselves. Fresh Northerly winds and clear weather with rough ses prevailed during the period covered in thia report, and the extra distance steamed on account of this sink, ing ship was approximately 217 miles,"
