A number of international stock brokers have sont a letter to the Mexican Eagle Oil Company drawing attention to statements in the Press as regards the prospects of the Company. The Company has replied admitting the appearance of water in some of the oilfields, pointing out that this is a normal phenomenon in Mexico. Although snall Companies are affected thereby, the Mexican Eagle share- holders have no ground for aların, since the Company is holding large oil-baaring territories against auch eventualities and is al present producing more than the refineries can handle.

A great haul of treasure of which voma, apparently are from the Russia's Crown Jewels, was made by the Custom authorities while! searching the trade commission visiting bor. The boxes contained a j quantity of precious stones and nedols, 17 kilograms of silver coin, four and a half kilograms of wald coin, a beautiful necklace, rostle gold-embroidered fabrics, and Persian rugs. Less than half the trunks have been searched so far.
