COALITION PROSPECTS.

SPEECH BY MR. BONAR

LAW

Mr. Bonar Law spoke at the Son Hall. Liverpool, recently in support of the Ministerial platform campaign. Sir Archibald Salvidge, the local leader of the Conserv-| ative party presided. Mr. Bonar Lew, in the course of his speech, said: I had the privilege yester day of listening in the Guildhall to a speech made by the Prince of Wales-cheers), and if it is

bad not

taste I should like to say that that would have been considered a great speech if made by anyone. (Hear; hear.) His Royal Highness dwelt. as he felt from his heart-as we all should. on the great services which had been rendered by the sister apd daughter nations of this great British Empire. That WAS natural, but the Prince tuld us also that wherever he went he wes Over- whelmed with praise and ac- miration for the part that was played not by our fighting men, only, though they bore the brunt of it, but by the whole nation in carrying on the struggle here in Great Britain. (Hear, hear.) We did play a great part, and the re- sult is that the nation was united for top to bottom, and the United Kingdom and the British Empire stand to-day on a pinnacle of glory of which

have every reason to be proud. When I last spoke in Liverpool there was no question of party-we were a united nation, and I have come here tonight with the ex-j press purpose of making, thel claim, and asking you to endorse
