Attendance: The total number of scholars enrolled during the year ending December 31st, 1919, was 1129-just 150 more than in the previous year. The average daily attendance throughout the rear was 309, being 30 more than during 1915. The highest atten dance was registered on September 16th when 764 boys were present: the lowest on July 26th the last day of the Summer term, when the attendance dropped to 472. This reduction in numbers occurs an nually in July and is accounted for by a combination of circumstances. The school year terminates then, and since the annual examinations

In Septem- bor last a single section of Class 8. for beginners in English, was formed in response to the numer- ous applications received from old Queen's College boys and others that facilities be provided here for the complete English education of their young sons and relations. The rule is Low in force throughout the school that no boy receives promotion unless he satisfies the examiners either here or at the University in both English and Chinese. It has long been realised that in one very im- portant particular our equipment has been sadly deficient. I refer to the entire absence of a chemi- cal laboratory and to the fact that our physics laboratory is of a tem- porary and very inadequate nature. This matter has from time to time been brought forward in recent years and was definitely shelved during the war. Our last applica- tion, made a few months ago, was held over pending the arrival of Your Excellency, and since it is a matter of vital importance to the College Internally, and as the only Government Institution send- ing Chinese students on to the Uni- versity, we venture, to hope that when it is brought forward it will receive Your Excellency'a fa- vourable consideration and sup- port..

Health of School. The health of the school generally was quite nor mal throughout the year and our attendance, although affected by temporary sick leave, did not suf fer, as it did in 1918, from out- breaks of epidemic diseases. The Individual medical examination of students instituted in 1918 and partially carried out by Dr. Mc- Kenny was completed early in August, 1919, by Dr. Macaulay, and has resulted in quite a large number of boys having their eyca

The story consists

of five separate adventures linked together by a mystery that runs through them all and is solved in the fifth.

Each adventure

is complete in itself;

but each leads on to the next.

The whole five

have been made into a picture which will be shown at the Coronet

in three instalments, commencing TO-NIGHT.

Remember that each portion is a complete picture play, which may be thoroughly enjoyed without reference to the others.

But if you are curious about the Mummy,

you will follow up the mystery until its solution
