FINALS AT FANLING. Yesterday, the final for the the Governor's Challenge Shield was played off at Fanling. The opposing pairs were Messrs. R. L. Moncreiffe and R. Bruce (Bank) versus S. H. Dodwell and A. RisTotal (for 5 wkts., declared)... 180 chie. The former won by 4 up

Moncreiffe and Bruce played re- markably steady and safe golf for men on their mark (19) while Dodwell and Ritchie played re- markably poorly for their club valuation (3). The Shield went to the better golfers on the day's play and the game proved con. clusively that they should not have six shots in hand from any two men in the Club.
The Ladies Championship final was also played. Mrs. Winslow meeting Mrs. Maitland. The former won easily, being 6 up and 5 to play. Though both players showed good form, Mrs. Winslow, who played brilliantly, throughly deserved her win.
