A Bombay telegram dated the 20th inst. says the cotton workers' strike took an ugly turn to-day.
A mob of strikers began looting and the military was ordered to fire. One was killed and five wounded. Quiet has been restored.
All shops in the mill district are closed.
The strike is spreading. Ten thousand dock workers have
joined the movement.
The outlook is regarded as serious.
