STEAM LAUNCH OFFICERS CHARGED.

This morning in the Marine Court, before Captain Basil Taylour, R. N. Marine Mag- istrate, the master and engineer: of the steam launch Hing Fat were prosecuted for placing on the safety valve of their launch a greater pressure than was allow- ed by his licence, to wit 134 lbs.

The master of the launch plead- ed not guilty, while the engineer] admitted the guilt.

Police Constable A. Brown'said that on the 9th instant he went alongside defendant's launch off & Į wharf. He asked where he had been and be replied he had been to Hunghom to get a doctor.
