Mr. Asquith gave a short bio- graphical sketch of Watton, the" friend and fishing bompanion of Isaal Walton, who wrote his bography. He finished his life as Provoat of Eton. Wotton, one of the mildest-tempered men, found his preferment ruined, and after some reflections libelled Scioppius with such epithets as Starveling apostate," dirty mountebank," and "half-baked little pedant."
