FULL DESCRIPTIONS OF THE TWO DAYS EVENTS.

It is no idle use of words to say that Hongkong's celebra tions of the Allied victory in the Great War have been such as make an impression on those who witnessed them that will remain with them for the remainder of their lives., Originally planned to take place on August 3, 4 and 5, which would bare coincided with the anniversary of the beginning of the European conflict, the datas were altered, on advice from the Imperial Government, to July 18 and 19, so that the Colony might thus fall into line with the

idesi weather, the celebrations were in every way a magnificent success. For this fact, the public owes a great debt of gratitude to the many officials, who worked both before and during the cele brations with untiring energy They were as follows:

The members of the Executive Committee, the Chair- men of the various sub-com- mittees, the co-opted members and, last but not least, the Hon. Secretary (Mr. S.B.C. Ross) all did their part in the huge amount of preliminary work involved in a manner which is beyond praise. And united effort was 'rewarded by a spectacular display the better of which it would be bard, if not impossible,to conceive.
