FRENCH PANEGYRIC ON THE BRITISH NAVY..

Paris, April 2

A high placed personage in the French Ministry of Maring has communicated the sentiments of the Minister and the Navy' inspired on the occasion of the visit of Admiral Beatty and representatives of the British Navy to Paris. He says that France is happy and proud to pay rational homage to the sailors who have been France's Ailes from the beginning of the war. The British Navy was an impenetrable shield of victory. It had the same part to play in the gigantic straggle by sea as the French armies had to play in the struggle on land. To the glorious names of the Marne, the Yser, and Verdun the British Navy had added Jatland. Zeebrugge and Ostend.

The speaker eulogistically referred to Admiral Beatty as the great trainer of the British Fleet, who understood how to communicate to it his own indomitable. courage and confidence, whose 'asine would be inscribed in the abaals of war alongside Marshal Jofre, Marshal Foch, Generals Petain and Haig Admiral Tonchard who will deliver the address welcome to the Naval party at Sorbonne said he would recount the British Fleets exploits, its incessant work night and day against the Gorman submarines without which the Allies victory would have been practically impossible. Admirals Tyrwhitt and Leveson with a hundred officers, two hundred petty officers and 850 bluejackets have arrived Admiral Beatty is expected to-day.
