OUR FALLEN HEROES.
How the Craves will be Marked.
London, November 27, The Press Buresa states that the Imperial War Graves Com mission has decided upon the principle of uniform headstones for marking the graves of all ranks, pointing out to those who saticipst ed supplying a memoria! of their own choosing the necessity of Do differentiation and co-operating in an action of the highest signi- ficance, namely, community of sacrifice.
The Commission recommends a headstone thirty inches high and eighteen wide, bearing the fallen man's rack, name of regiment and date of death, the next-of-kin being permitted to add a three line inscription."
"Their Name Liveth for Evermore, “.
Lonuul, November 27. The Press Bureau states sont Mr. Badyard Kipling, in submitt ing to the Imperial War Graves Commission & suggestion for the inccription for the great war stone which will forma cestial feature in sil cemeteries abroad, wrote: "Is was necessary to find worde of praise and honour which should be both simple, well-known, com- presensible and of the esme value in all tongues, and standing, se far as might be, outside the fax of men aza taings. After search and consultation with sil zaaks and many faces in our armies and nevise, as well as with those who have given their song, it seemed to me that no ringle paran could be bitter than that which close the tribute to 'famous men' in Eccleatselions, namely, Their name liveth for "evermore."
The Commission. has approved the recommendation.

The Press Barsan says the Imperial War Graves Commission, in considering the re burial of soldiers in salated graves 60 sitered scross the battlefields which will shartly be again brought into cultivation, bas decided that it is necessary to remove them to cemeteries where they can be reverently oured for. There are over 150,000 isolated graves in France and Belgium, notably on the Ipras and Somme battlefielda, where they are thickly strewn over several miles in length and breadth. Any other course would-be- excessively painful to relatives and unfair to landholders. Volunteer from among the comrades fallen will carry out the re barisle under cbsplaines. There are overwhelming reasons against the crbumstion of bodies for removal to the ecidiere native countries, as this would be contrary to the principle of equality of treatment.
