A young Dutchman, named Martens, was remanded at West Hartlepool recently charged with being concerned in the theft of £2,000 worth of jewellery from sa oatporter's handosrt in a street on May 7. A. boy scout identified Martens se one of two men be sAW emptying jewellery on a refun heap at Seaton Carew. Martens, who was said to be an army absentee, was handed over to the police by the military anthorities.
