Burma's Mineral Production.
Burma went ahead with her production of minerals in 1916 sbowing incresses ́ovet 1915, In slver 184.7. per cent; tin ora [103.7; zine ore 3243.5; antimony, ore 7452.9 per cent. Gold, plati- num and
copper all fell off. Tungsten ore was a gainer of 71
per cent, but petroleum fell off 112 per cent.
Kobe and Osaka Money Market.
Money advanced in Osaka for the month-end settlement was recovered satisfactorily and cash in the hands of bankers increased rapidly, with the result that the discount rate declined by half a rin and the rate for money at call by riu, the bank rate standing at.1.3 sen and that of call money at 1sen at the lowest. The week. end accounts "drawn up by thấ Osaka Branch of the Bank of Japan showed advances of Y9,- 756,000, and deposits of Y3,177,000. As compared with the preceding. week-end, the former shows a decrease of Y141,000, and the latter an increase of Y1,156,000:0 At Eube. the market for call | money was somewhat woak, but y
the discount rate advanced to some extent, the rate for money at call standing at 1 sen and the bank rate at 1.5 seg, minimum. A firmer market is looked for.
Kobe Freight Market.
The local freight market is somewhat weak and rates have declined a little. For coal be- tween Moji and Yokohama the rate is Y9.10 or thereabout. On the other band, prices of steamers continue to advance. During last week, one of the Yokohama Shipbuilding Yard's st-ck boats was sold at Y8.10 pep ton D.W. It is predicted that new sleamars will non cost about 1910 per ton. Charters concluded last week were at the rate of Y29 for coast- ing steamers. Y31 for Indiaa liners and Y36 for the North American route. Fixtures made during the week were:-Kaiju Mar, Dairen-Wakamatsu, coal, Y8.50 Katori Maru, Kushiro- Dairen ale pers, Y.20; Yumi- bari Maru, Vladivostock-Dairen, beant, Y147 per picul; Nichthoku” Maru,

Appreciation of Japenese Prices.
Out of 50 principal commodities in Oraka, 35 advanced in price, and 7 declined, while 6 showed no change during July; the ratio standing at "233. (Prices in January 19 2 are taken as the standard, 100.). As compared
