Dairen Shipping Dealing with the shipping of the Port of Daireo, Mr. T. Khara Acting Commissioner of the Maritio e Customs at that port in his report for 1916' says:-The total number of vessels entered "and cleared exceeded that of the previous year by 247, but the aggregate tonnage was leas by Bome 496,000 tons. Of the steamers of various nationalities, the British further diminished by 120 vessele, of 20800 tons, showing that more ships bave bean withdrawn from service. Japanese steamers numbered almost the same as in 19-5, but the tonnage fell off by 323,000 tons.
