The woman of sbility need no longer feel that as a teacher ebe was going to be confined to the classroom. She could do much to secure justice for women in the teaching profession se s whole. After the war a large number of working women would. be drawn to the classes organised by the Workers Educational AV scoiation. In the northern town? in which he had been living he had been greatly struck by the keen interest taken in bígher education. by working women.

Referring to the new work open to women, Mr. Fisher esid that if we were to have good women doctors and social workers. they must be trained, and we required sufficient supply of edacated disciplined ability so train them. Upper middle and working cissa parents would be more alive to the necessity of fading careers for their daughters, and the daughter: would be stimulated by the war. Powell Coud & Mato insist upon it. Yet there could be no increase in the number of professional women unless wa had, and had soon, a larger supply of qualified women teachers.
