Dutch Pacific" Service. The Rotterdam Lloyd, a large Dutch shipping company, plans to | open a regular trans Pacifio ser- vice with seven largel ners, says a despatch received in Tokyo last week by the Nippon Yusen Kaisha from its Singapore office. Ti ese liners wil run from Batavia to San Francisco, touch- ing at Singapore, Hongkong and Japanese porte. The first vessel on the service sailed from Sing- apore March 17, and is the ship that ts es away the Gernan diplomatic party. The Rotterdam Lloyd owns 35 steamers, with an aggregate tonnage of 183,20 tons, and it is reported has 56 more steamers under construct- ion.
