Malacca Planter's Death at the Frost.

Majər Allan Graham Niven, Northumberland Fusiliers, killed· on July 1, was the second son of Commander Oswald Baylis Niven, R.N., and grandeon of General Sir Charles Montauban Carmich- sel. He returned from Ceylon where he was ten-planting to fight in the South African War in 1900, obtaineds commission in the East Lancashire Regiment," and was invalided home two years later.
