EXCITEMENT IN AMERICA,
November 10, 155 a.m. Renter'a correspondent at Washington says that the ness of the Finking of the Aran has created a rentation and is regarded as foreshadowing a controversy with Austria similar to the critical Lusitania affair. November 10, 1.30 p.m. Reuter'a correspondent at Ferryville, Tunis, says that at one o'clock on Monday afternoon, the Ancona, which was proceeding to New York, was sack off Cap Carbonara by a large submarine flying the Austrian sg. The submarino fired a hundred shots at the liner, which was then torpedoed.

November 10, 1.55 8.m. In the House of Commons Sir Artbar Markham cited an instance of the enormous increase of freights to Franco and Italy, urging the regulation of shipping charges. Mr. Runciman do an important reply. The whole question, he said, had been carefully considered and an Order-in-Coar oil from to marrow will authorise the Govern. ment to requisition ships for tho Admiralty. He says that the power exists to requisition ships that are abroad.

They have occupied Kem- marn. in the district of Courland, capturing much material which the fleeing Germans abandoned. Tho Rassione also stormed villages near Jacobstadt and Dvin-k and a strongly fortified wood east of the town of Zsliechichiki. They repaleed four enemy counter-attacks made with the object of recapturing the wood.
