Chambers of Commerce In China

According to arcoent statement | published by the statistical de-f partment of the Ministry of Agri- culture and Commerce, there are in Ohins proper 794 Chambers of Commerce representing a toʻal of 208,488 individual carcerns. In theeo Chambers of Commerce, 32524 persons are employed. The regular receipts, amonated to $1,023,658 in 1914 while the total expenditure was $1,482,784.

Professor Pirmin Swinnen. Amongst the Belġian refugeen in England is Professor Firmin Swinnon, who, prior to the war, was an organist at Antwerp Cathedral. During his stay here he has given over 150 organ recitals in various parts of the country and has raised £2,760 by this means for relief funds, Be has declined a good pecuniary offer to visit America, feeling that be should stay here and belp his fellow countrymen.
