PROGRESS IN THE DARDANELLES.

August 10, 6.45 p.m. Gonseal Sir Ian Hamilton reports fighting during the last few daye, resulting in substantial progress.

"He states that in the southern zons 200 yards were gained on. front of 300 yards eastward of the Krithis road, and held, despite determined count 'rattacks which were repulsed with heavy loss.

Repeated Turkish attacks elsewhere were defeated. The General pays a tribute to the whole-hearted co-operation of the French.
