Prices being higher during the plant- ing season than they had been, a larger area was put under seed than was at first contemplated. There has been A decided decrease in the use of fertilizere in the older States, which will have considerable bear upon production. Owing to the suc- con of experiments in the cultiva tion of Egyptian cotton in the Salt River Valley, Arizona, the area under this seed has not been nduced this season.
