There was to sign of life on the island. The Dalgonar was lost Fome twelve months or more ago. She was caught in a hurricane, and diemasted sud thrown on her beam
ends. The master, Captain Isbister, and several of the crew were either killed by the falling wreckage or washed over-board. The dismantled Dalgonar was subsequently sighted by a French barque, and the survivors, after enduring great privations, were taken off and landed in America.
