May 25, 4.80 p.m. According to Renter's correspondent at Rome, the Italian official communique states that on the frontier at Carnes, Austrian artillery bombarded our positions unsuccessfully.
Our artillery then cannonaded the enemy's gun positions. We advanced everywhere along the frontier in the region of Friuli, înto the enemy's territory, encountering feeble resistance.
RUSSIAN COMMUNIQUE.
May 25, 5.35 a.m. According to a Petrograd memage it is officially suroanced that the Russian counter-attacks have forced the enemy to assume the defensive along almost the whole Galician front.
