Following as the meeting did so closely upon a period of political exuitement in Chins, and beld too, in a city, where hostility to Japan has been most pro nounced, it must be regarded as a.specially noteworthy feature of the meeting that many Japanese were among the successful com- petitors, and their successes were received in a tine sporting spirit.
